PORTFOLIO

Hi!

Me!! Hi!!

I'm Sara!  I live in Buffalo, NY with a background in Mechanical Engineering graduated from RIT in August 2023.

I enjoy taking on a large variety of projects that challenge and add to my skillset.  Primarily, my specialty is 3d modeling in CAD software and I've expanded to hard surface modeling over time.  With my models, I 3d print, animate, import into games, integrate lights, and more.  My goal is to continue using my skillset to help create experiences for people.  For the time being I mainly achieve this through creating gifts and sharing my work.

Below are examples of my mentioned 3d work, as well as my previous work in lighting design (ETC EOS) <3

Everything shown and pictured is 100% my own work unless otherwise mentioned

Justice: Mini Marshall Wall

Final Product

November 2024

This mini project is a small scale version of Justice's Marshall amp wall from their previous tours.  It was modeled in Autodesk Inventor, printed with a clear PETG screen for the lights to shine through, and used an ESP32 connected to Resolume arena for pixel mapping.

Final tests pre-show

May 2024 -> September 2024

Goal: Create a light up skull mask for Kai Wachi to wear during b2b performances with BTSM, previous mask made him invisible on stage.

Solution: Old mask was scanned in using Polycam and reshaped in Blender.  LED cutouts were formed into mask after testing/design stage then was printed on a Neptune 4 Max in Nylon, and finished with sanding and filling.

Since its debut in NYC, this has been featured in every Skull Machine show

*Black Tiger Sex Machine: Community Sword

Sword in Mulch

May 2023 -> June 2023

Goal: Create a sword prop based on BTSM's community sword for use in their pictures and Electric Forrest set, that could also come apart for travel.

Solution: Updated my previous fanart sword design to be assembled using integrated hardware.  Some parts were redesigned to make painting easier as well.

In total: 3 versions of this sword have been created.  My initial one in June 2023, and improved one for a fan/cosplayer in Dec/Jan 2024, and this one for BTSM themselves.

Lighting Controllers for LED Masks:

Skull Machine Case

August 2024 -> September 2024

After Skull Machines debut in NYC, I wanted to create a controller BTSM could use for pictures, since the one they had for their own helmets was limited by its LED count and couldn't light up all of the skull.  I used this as an excuse to learn Arduino IDE, and eventually created a second one for my own BTSM helmet.  I wrote code to cycle through a selection of different colors and a couple of animations.  The final box has an Arduino Nano Every and 1 button.

Skull Machine, Lost Lands

July 2023 -> September 2024

I started this helmet a very long time ago, only for it to be shelved constantly for other projects.  After completing Skull Machine, it only felt right to finally finish it for Lost Lands.  The model was created in Blender using reference images and comparing it with a base model, and printed on my Ender 3 Neo Max in 3 pieces.

October 2024:

Combining my interests of making swords and Beat Saber, I imported some of my modeling work into the game.  To do this, I recreated my original BTSM sword design in blender, as well as a new version more accurate to some of their visuals.  I followed a tutorial and template for the Unity aspects of this project, and it was a great intro into that program.

Keychains: Various Artists

Continual:

Trading and giving away little gifts is a large part of rave culture.  I like to create unique keychains based on various artists for this.  I don't own a printer with an AMS system yet, so each design is created to be assembled after printing.

April 2024:

A good friend of mine played a debut set at Photo City Music Hall, to assist with the show experience I modeled and animated a few different visual loops that aligned with their interests/branding.
